Pau
La Saga d'Atlas & Axis I-IV
INFORMATION
Translated into: Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Polish, English, German.
Four books already published in France. The first book in the series was published in September 2011 in French and Spanish, and it was quickly followed by editions in Dutch, Italian, Polish, Spanish, English and German which made it his first International work. The drawing style, very much cartoon like and with a lot of energy, may seem like it is a children’s book. However, the tone of the story makes it suitable for all ages, or even it might be qualified as adults only, since at times it is cruel and grim, although it always has a very peculiar sense of humour. One of the particularities of the saga is that its main characters, despite talking and walking on two legs, are dogs and act as such. In the first volume, the two dogs resolve to go looking for survivors of their village after an attack of the Norcandos. On the road they meet Honey, a bear that works a a waitress, who helps them. In the second volume, after coming back from the North, they head East, looking for proof of existence of a legendary race that would be the missing link between the wolf and the dog, so that they could settle the endless arguments between creationists and evolutionists once and for all. The third book, where they go West, seeking the mythic bone Khimera, is dedicated to war and a charismatic character that ends up being very different from what he initially seemed. And in the fourth book, they will continue their search of Khimera and on their way they will find a village whose people are being killed by a terrible monster.
