Three Mallorcan friends who shared their childhood in the same neighborhood have followed very different personal and professional careers: journalism, sport and military career. Many years later, they return to the relationship when the journalist is commissioned to write a book about the basketball club of the fellow sportsman. Removing the documentation of the friend appears his correspondence with the one who had still made a military career, an adventurer who intervened in international war conflicts and, later, made money in hotel businesses in Mallorca. In this way, the evolution of human relations is created with a living picture of the conflict in the world at the turn of the century: the old twentieth century that dies with the fall of the Berlin Wall and the twenty-first century that is born with the war in Afghanistan.
