Miquel Àngel Llauger
Fourmillante
INFORMATION
Fourmillante contains 60 poems, written in decasyllabic. It is, therefore, a book of poetry. But each poem is linked to the next through some incident or character, and together they follow the course of 24 hours in the life of a city, from almost four o'clock in the morning of one day to almost four o'clock in the morning of the following day. Fourmillante is therefore also a novel. And it is also a choral novel, because each of the 60 poems is starred by a different character, who gives the poem its title. For the clear force with which the poems are offered to the imagination of readers and for the trace with which they are chained.
Fourmillante has won the 16th Sant Cugat Poetry Prize in memory of Gabriel Ferrater.
