INFORMATION

Marc Roses, a hotelier in 13th century Barcelona, is deeply in love with Ada, who has another noble family suitor called Mau de Riera. To remove his rival, Mau accuses Marc Roses, who is captured and imprisoned in Girona, of a sex crime. In order to regain his freedom, Mau decides to join Jaume I's troops who leave to conquer Mallorca. The experience of the war against the Muslims of the island upsets him and impacts him decisively. When he returns to Barcelona, he decides to cross the Pyrenees. There he sympathizes with the Cathar hereges, victims of the religious crusade in the siege of Montsegur. The wound opened by injustice and war will always accompany him. The evil of war is a story of love and death, with the background of Muslim Mallorca, Provence the Cathars and, above all, a real Barcelona, rich in customs and popular characters, with elements of magic and witchcraft of the time.
