Víctor Gayà
Cercle enigmàtic
INFORMATION
Berta and Octavi find themselves trapped in the circle of desire, the enigmatic circle that fades away definitively when it closes and that, paradoxically, can only be materialized as an open, incomplete circle.
In Cercle enigmàtic, Berta and Octavi live a series of apparently banal vicissitudes that are transformed into a dramatic succession of unusual situations, all of them determined by the particular logic of a yearning that always ends up swinging between eroticism and destructive eagerness. The action takes place in a time - that of desire - that could span many years as much as correspond to the commitment of a single day; in a space -that of a dreamlike Majorca- that everyone could recognise and nobody could manage to make concrete; and within a disturbing structure of open situations that, like one's own necessarily unsatisfied desire, flee from the suffocation of the closed circle, the trivial knot.
The work presented here has already been profusely announced, described and justified in Víctor Fox, the previous novel by Víctor Gayà. In this way, the author not only orbits in an ever-expanding narrative cosmos, but now contributes, as an integral and autonomous work, the above-mentioned text, a text, on the other hand, of capital importance in the enigmatic play of uncertain identities.
