Description

The contribution of Miquel Àngel Riera to strengthen the Mallorcan linguistic forms in a formal context may be, after Mn Alcover, the most important but also the least valued. Riera was a classical novel author and also an extraordinary poet. Riera tells us the story from a very honest and compassionate point of view and brings it to a poetic background with action, despite its realistic appearance. The three stories used for this play carry the spark of theatre and they are believed to be M.A. Riera’s most emblematic. Two of them, “Sortir amb la dona” and “La Declaració”, were originally written as monologues and the adjustments for theater have been minimal. The third, “Morir a Ca Seva”, is a very emotional story in the form of a tale, which is perfectly adapted.
