Cançoner popular il·lustrat
INFORMATION
“I sometimes surprise myself singing them. Mi mother sang them. Mi grandmother sang them. Mi great-grandmother sang them. Who knows who invented them?. And when these songs come to my head, I think in a world I do not want to lose”
The Cançoner popular il·lustrat (Illustrated popular song book) is a recompilation of romances, poems and songs to sing with the family. They are songs that narrate stories and funny and endearing facts that present the character of our most ingrained culture: Dolores, who had a boyfriend who gives her a chicken, Bel from the Molinar, who went to buy charcoal and Joan, who arrived with those huge shoes…
The illustrations are inspired in these songs and they are made with great deal of humor and realism so that this world that doesn’t exist anymore can still survive for many generations.
