60's Film Music

INFORMATION

Using a cello, a saxophone and a combination of classic and electric guitars, Tugores aims to share some of the melodies that have made cinema even bigger. Tugores's new album is a compilation of great soundtracks were composed in the early 60s, a period when the lyricism of Maurice Jarre and Alex North, the luminosity of Mikis Theodorakis, the epic Ernest Gold, sophisticated melodies of Burt Bacharach and jazz of John Barry and Henry Mancini coexist. On the CD three original pieces by Jaume Tugores are included: "Alfred and Bernard" (dedicated to Alfred Hitchcock and Bernard Herrmann), which recreates the disturbing, penetrating and surprising atmosphere so often reached by these two masters; "Mancini al Brasil" is a piece dedicated to Henry Mancini, one of the most beloved musicians by film lovers, musicians and audiences; and "El castell vermell", a theme inspired by the beauty and grandeur of the Alhambra in Granada, evoking lyrical and epic soundtracks by authors like Alex North, Miklos Rozsa, and Maurice Jarre.
