Xavi Herrero literally grew up in a photographic studio, that of his father, until he was 17 years old when he joined one of the first Barcelona production companies dedicated to commercial and industrial video as a camera assistant, at the same time he joined the I.O.R.T.V. (Instituto Oficial de RTV-Ente Público de RTVE) and trained as an Image Operator and Director. He finished his studies in 1990 and the person in charge of the I.O.R.T.V in Barcelona proposed him to work in this centre and in the R.T.O. (Barcelona´92), he also began a cycle as professor of Camera Operator and Photographic Direction in several private and public centres (MK-3, European Training Fund, University of Photography of the UPC, etc...).

He wins a grant to set up his first production company KAMERAMA, dedicated to commercial video and starts artistic projects, video clips and short films in Super8. In 1994 he focuses exclusively as Camera Operator and Director of Photography.

As Freelance, its clients are TV-3 (Televisió de Catalunya),GESTMUSIC,MERCURY,EL TERRAT,DORNA,CANAL+,T.V.ANDORRA etc. He alternates documentaries and reports with TV-3 with set programmes (GOOD with EL TERRAT, during 2 seasons, for example) and world class sports broadcasts with DORNA with whom he is Camera Operator in the Motorcycling World Championship for 4 years...

Working he has visited more than 25 countries (Xina, Russia, Qatar, Turkey, etc ...) In 2008 he abandons his free-lance activity and joins the TV-3 staff where they offer him to join the artistic trends program "Silenci? Later he is responsible for the external reports of several programs....until he abandons his activity in TV-3 in 2015he has traveled all genres T.V.: Fition, Documentary, News, Entertainment, Retransmissions, etc ...

In 2016 he creates UTOPIKFILMS dedicated to the production of short films, documentaries and feature films, producing and directing short films and currently shooting his first feature film.
