He is an author and theatre director, trained at the Institut del Teatre. He began in the theatres of Barcelona. In 1993 he founded the company La d'Hac.
He has directed around twenty plays. He has premiered some of his productions at the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, such as El mercader de Venècia (by William Shakespeare), Mort de dama (Llorenç Villalonga), El cafè de la Marina (by Josep Maria de Sagarra), Casa de nines (by Henrik Ibsen), Marburg (by Guillem Clua), Panorama des del pont (d'Arthur Miller), La nit de Catalina Homar (de José Carlos Llop i Carme Riera), among others. He directed the successful Acorar, by the actor and author of the text Toni Gomila.
He is the author of Zòmit (1988), Assaig d'Hac (1990), L'alfabet de l'aigua (1996) and Peep Show Verona (1999), among others.
In 2011 he also directed the opera Ana Bolena by Gaetano Donizetti at the Gran Teatre del Liceu. He has given workshops on theatre. Mallorcan Rafael Lladó has signed the stage design for many of his productions.
He won the Crítica Serra d'Or prize with Periférica Koltès and the Premio de la Crítica de Barcelona 1998. He also won the Àngel d'or and the Butaca prizes for Panorama des del pont.
