Quartet Vela was born from the initiative to travel around the world through chamber music. Formed by members from Barcelona and the Balearic Islands, they moved to Denmark to get exposure for their music and to experience the Nordic culture and traditions. The quartet's repertoire is mainly classical but also includes own arrangements and new works. Quartet Vela presents a musical production called "Between Mediterranean and North", which connects parts of both regions, creating a unique bond between music and culture. The ensemble collaborates with several organizations working with small-scale productions. "Spanish portraits" and "Insights" are programmes that have been most welcomed in the Scandinavian countries.
