Model Slaves
A dusty crossroads.
A saloon on the forbidden planet.
While you drink at the bar, a jukebox flows like a lava lamp.
From dreamiest David Bowie to My Bloody Valentine. From Editors or She Wants Revenge to Ennio Morricone. This is Model Slaves' sound, which could be labeled as a balanced potion of post-punk, shoegaze, psychedelia and alt-country.
Model Slaves are formed by Víctor Palacios (vocals and bass), Pep Lluís Palmer (drums) and guitarists Moncho Martín ("Son and the Holy Ghosts") and Tolo Fornés (the latter also at synths).
The first studio work of Model Slaves, "The Earthlings" (EP, February 2015, "Hell's Kitchen Studio"), produced by Tomeu Janer, caught the attention of the independent medium Forkster's Band of the Day:
"Model Slaves ring out an alternative rock wisdom ... These alternative rockers carry a body of Luscious music full of genres with exceptional balances of post-punk, indie rock, alternative rock and western rock 'n' roll. Undoubtedly, they are experts in music and know how to take songs with a hypnotizing post-punk western rock'n'roll platform. "- Tim Forker, Forkster's Band of the Day (Feb 20, 2015).
Their most recent work, also produced by Tomeu Janer, is The Giants (April 2016, Hell's Kitchen Studio), a double single consisting of two feverish stories inspired by Ray Bradbury's fantastic universe. The launch was completed in February 2017 with an animated video created by the Mallorcan artist Álex Coll, who collaborated with the psychedelic revival band The Wheels on their video "Like a little child".
