Miquel Àngel Lacomba quartet

The project “Miquel Àngel Lacomba Quartet” has recently emerged after ten years of composition by pianist Miquel Àngel Lacomba. The influences are varied: jazz, Latin jazz, classical, and contemporary music. Recently, he released Illetes, an EP with 4 new tracks, in addition to the album released in 2022 titled Cocó with 5 tracks. The compositions are characterised by their lyricism, sensitivity, introspection, and subtlety. Some of them, with harmonic structures that diverge from traditional harmonic patterns, seek a certain complexity and freedom, allowing for broad perspectives of musical expression. The composition process, carried out with care and reflection, has been enriched by the formation of the quartet, which includes Marco Lohikari on double bass, Teo Salvà on drums, Jaume Blàzquez on flugelhorn, and Miquel Àngel Lacomba on piano. The musical compositions, while not confined to a specific style, clearly express the language of jazz, thus allowing enjoyment of the improvisations and interactions between the musicians.
