La Espiral del Tiempo

La Espiral del Tiempo (Time's Spiral) is the meeting between the composer and singer Jasmina Patrovic and the berber artist Amar Amarni that allowed the creation of a unique human and musical encounter.

 

Jasmina Petrovic is a soprano with classic and modern education. Between 1996 and 2006 she recived classic education from Manuel de Soto at the Superior Music School of Stuttgart (Germany) and at Madrid (Spain), where she studied with the georgian teacher Lamara Chkonia.

Her professonial career moved between different musical and geografical sides, discovering the strength and lyricism of the folk song in her own works of fado, french, spanish or german song and other XX century european styles. Her voice, accompanied by piano, surrounds the listener in a sensitive imaginary offering a musical poetry riddled with emotions.

Jasmina sings in many mediterranian languages, such as Croatian, Romansh, Amazigh, Turkish, French, Portuguese or Spanish.

 

Amar Amarni is North African a painter, filmaker, singer and musician born in 1973 at Tizi-Ouzou (Algeria). He studied at the Superior Art School of Algiers (Algeria) and Marsella (France), where he graduated and obtained his diplomas .

Amar's art is composed of experimental music that explores urban and natural sounds with uncommon instruments. He is able to make sounds playing any object, even with motionless or unvoiced objects. The chemistry that he creates between instruments and objects reflects its borderless philosophy. Amar uses a broad spectrum of North African rythms from the desert and the mountains, traditional and modern and Gnawian and Chaabi mixed with other rythms such as rock, folk and country. He recorded his own songs in the Orange me happy, Kani Kani and Live à la ligne 13 CDs.

 

Amar made a great amount of art exhibition and concerts at different countries such as Algeria, Morocco, France, Spain, Germany, Finland, Tunisia, Canada, United States of America and Australia.

 

Jasmina's and Amar's performance La Espiral del Tiempo encourages audience to join a musical travel through their compositions, inciting the intercultural comunication and the bonds of brotherhood between nations. Its eclectic repertorie is inspired by traditional topics and melodies taken from the rich mediterranean cultura naturally stablished between South Europe and North Africa throughout history.
