Originally from Maó (Menorca), Kiev Portella is developing a solid concert career in Spain, Italy and England. In his first CD Llevat, recorded in Basel (Switzerland), he performs works by Brahms, Ravel and Debussy. Kiev Portella holds a degree in piano and chamber music.

He has played in venues such as the Palau de la Música in Barcelona, ​​the symphony hall of the Barcelona Auditorium, Chopin Festival Valldemossa, International Music Festival of Ciutadella, Williamson Art Gallery in Liverpool, Auditorium in Palma de Mallorca Auditorium Chettam's School of Music in Manchester, Teatre Principal in Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona SGAE, Fundación Juan March in Madrid, Bluecoat Liverpool, Teatre Principal de Valls, Teatre Principal in Maó, Teatro Metropol in Tarragona, ... 

His first appearance as a soloist with an orchestra was at the Auditorium de Mallorca, performing with the Balearic Symphony Orchestra, before 1,700 people. He has also performed with the Chamber Orchestra "Gonçal Comelles", the Orchestra "Soloists of Mallorca", the Island of Menorca Chamber Orchestra (OCIM), the Orchestra of the University Rovira i Virgili URV. the Mahon Conservatory Orchestra, Camera Musicae Orchestra, Philharmonic of the Athenaeum Group Mahon, Cum Iubilo Orchestra of Tarragona ... and shared the stage with directors like Philippe Bender, Salvador Brotons, Tomàs Grau, Xavier Puig, Barry Sargent, among others... As a complete artist he combines his performances as a soloist along with chamber music regularly working with Liverpool String Quartet.

He has won numerous first prizes in both national and international competitions. He is also a jury member of various international competitions.

Since 2007 he works as Professor at the School of Music of Tarragona Province. As the teacher invited to teach master classes in Spanish courses with figures such as Dimitri Ashkenazy, Lluís Claret, Ramzi Yassa, Ramon Coll ...

He is founding member of the foundation "Frederic Mompou".

During 2008 and 2013 he premiered works by composers M. Farias (Chile) and Zhigong Wei (Shanghai), awarded at the International Composition Competition Frederic Mompou.
