Joan Pons

He's a novelist. Graduate in Catalan Philology from the Universitat de Barcelona. He is the author of the book of short stories No cregui el que diuen de mi (Columna, 1991) and the novels Nàufrags (Columna, 1994), which won the Joan Ramis i Ramis prize, El laberint de les girafes (Proa, 1999), considered one of the best narrative books of the 20th century by the Generalitat de Catalunya, Remant cap al sol (La Galera, 2001), Joaquim Ruyra Prize, Sorra a les sabates (La Magrana, 2005), Barba-rossa (La Magrana, 2006), translated into Russian, La casa de gel (Bromera, 2010), Ciutat d'Alzira Prize, and Gossos de pluja (El Gall, 2011). 

As a poet, he has published L'illa dels arbres vençuts (Adia Edicions, 2016). He is the author of the illustrated book Punxaguda (SD Edicions, 2013).
