Joan Carles Bestard

He began to study dramatic art at the Escuela-Taller Xesc Forteza, under the direction of Pere Noguera. He continued his training with Xesc Forteza, Marcos Pornov, Assumpta Serna, Antoni Maria Thomàs and Antoni Artigues.
He has participated in dozens of theatrical productions, representing texts by Bernardo Dovizi da Bibiena, Llorenç Moyà, Slawonir Mrozek, Dario Fo, Franca Rame, Gabriel Janer Manila, Blai Bonet, Llorenç Villalonga, Anton P. Chekhov and Carlo Goldoni, among many other authors. In recent times, he has premiered Sherlock Holmes y el destripador, in Barcelona; the musical La Bella Helena, at the Classical Theatre Festival in Mérida; Quin desgavell tot el matí, in Mallorca; Tres nits sense dormir, Les dones sàvies; Y no quedará ninguno, by Agatha Christie; and Es Güelu. He has been playing the character of Madò Pereta, very popular in the Balearic Islands, for some twenty years.
Bestard has a diploma in Teaching, specialising in Infant and Primary Education, and is a teacher of Catalan.
