Laura Pérez Díaz and Mireia Frutos Fernández met during their studies at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música Padre Antonio Soler in San Lorenzo de El Escorial. Encouraged by the piano teacher they had in common, they began in the repertoires of piano for four hands. Immediately they became aware of the rapport and understanding that existed between them, which allowed them to deepen their repertoire without difficulty. 

In addition to Ana Isabel Fernández, they receive advice from Professor Anatoli Povzoun. From the beginning they developed a regular concert activity performing as a duo in the recital held at the Professional Conservatory of Music of Ferraz (Madrid) in which they interpreted Schubert's Fantasy in F minor.

After a period of recess in which both pianists have continued to expand their studies both as soloists and in the field of chamber music, they decided to resume their collaboration with the creation of the "George Sand Piano Duo", being the main advisor of their project Professor Enrique Bernaldo de Quirós, while receiving master classes from Josep Colom.

They have performed on different occasions within the programme of the Palma Concert Society, including the concert in homage to Antón García Abril, in which they performed his work Homenaje a Copérnico (Homage to Copernicus). 

They have also performed in auditoriums such as the Sala Eutherpe in León or the Casa de la Cultura in San Lorenzo de El Escorial and have been included in the programme of one of the cycles organised by Bell Art Europa. All their concerts have been received with great enthusiasm by the audience and the specialised critics. 

George Sand Piano Duo has been one of the chamber groups selected by the IEA to participate in the 2016/2017 edition of the "Clasicos en Ruta" programme.
