José Manuel Álvarez Losada (violin) After winning important prizes in the International Joaquín Rodrigo (Madrid, 2004), Primer Palau (Barcelona, 2006) and XLI Curso Internacional de Música en Compostela (Santiago, 1998) competitions, among others, he began his intense artistic activity that led him to perform in the main auditoriums of Germany, Austria, Spain, France, Holland, Italy, Japan, United Kingdom, Dominican Republic and Switzerland. As a solo artist, he performs with various orchestras, with special relevance the concerts he performs with the Spanish Radio Television Orchestra, with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Galicia and with the Symphony Orchestra of the Balearic Islands. As a chamber musician, he is a founding member of the string quartet Música en Compostela, together with A. León Ara, Enrique Santiago and Pedro Corostola. He has been a member of the Joaquín Rodrigo Chamber Orchestra, the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester and the Galician Symphony Orchestra. Born in Ourense, his main teachers are Gaiané Pogossova (Oviedo), Agustín León Ara (Barcelona) and Maighread McCrann (Vienna). He finished his studies with the Extraordinary Prize of the Conservatoire of Ourense (Violin), the Extraordinary Final Prize of the Conservatoire of Barcelona (specialising in Violin and Chamber Music) and Postgraduate with final qualification of Honour by the Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Graz (Austria). He currently combines his artistic activity with teaching at the Conservatory of Music of the Balearic Islands, where he is Professor of Violin.

Andreu Riera, (piano) Born in Manacor, Mallorca. He studied piano with Concepció Vadell and at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid with Professor Ángeles Rentería. There he obtains the first prizes at the end of his career in piano and chamber music. He continued his studies in Vienna, where he studied for a year with Professor Hans Graf at the Höchschule für Musik and then moved to London, where he finished his studies with Professor Edith Vogel at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Among his numerous prizes in international competitions, it is worth mentioning those obtained in the International Competitions of Jaén (1991), Bärenreiter Mozart in Salzburg (1991), Fundación Guerrero (Madrid 1991) or Frederic Mompou (Barcelona, 1993). He has given concerts practically all over Spain, as well as Italy, Austria, France, Switzerland, Germany, Finland, England, the United States, Canada and Australia. He has performed in important music festivals such as Palma, Artà, Torroella de Montgrí, Valencia, Tenerife Contemporary Festival, Granada, Opus Última Madrid, Alicante, Salzburg Mozarteum, Santander Grand Masters, European Community of Venice, Bath (England), Colorado Springs (USA), Santa Cristina de Aro, etc. He has been part of the chamber group Manon and is currently a member of chamber ensembles such as the Arion Quartet and the Image Ensemble. As a soloist he has performed with several orchestras: Camerata de Llevant, Orquesta de Cámara Ciutat de Manacor, Simfònica de Balears Ciutat de Palma, Camerata "Sa Nostra", Sinfónica de Sevilla, de Málaga, JONDE, Kuopio Symphony, New American Chamber Orchestra, Colorado Springs Festival Orchestra, Montreal Chamber Players. He is currently a full professor at the Conservatori Superior de les Illes Balears, as well as Artistic Director of the recently created Cala Morlanda Chamber Music Festival.
