José Manuel Álvarez Losada (violin) After winning important prizes in the International Joaquín Rodrigo (Madrid, 2004), Primer Palau (Barcelona, 2006) and XLI Curso Internacional de Música en Compostela (Santiago, 1998) competitions, among others, he began his intense artistic activity that led him to perform in the main auditoriums of Germany, Austria, Spain, France, Holland, Italy, Japan, United Kingdom, Dominican Republic and Switzerland. As a solo artist, he performs with various orchestras, with special relevance the concerts he performs with the Spanish Radio Television Orchestra, with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Galicia and with the Symphony Orchestra of the Balearic Islands. As a chamber musician, he is a founding member of the string quartet Música en Compostela, together with A. León Ara, Enrique Santiago and Pedro Corostola. He has been a member of the Joaquín Rodrigo Chamber Orchestra, the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester and the Galician Symphony Orchestra. Born in Ourense, his main teachers are Gaiané Pogossova (Oviedo), Agustín León Ara (Barcelona) and Maighread McCrann (Vienna). He finished his studies with the Extraordinary Prize of the Conservatoire of Ourense (Violin), the Extraordinary Final Prize of the Conservatoire of Barcelona (specialising in Violin and Chamber Music) and Postgraduate with final qualification of Honour by the Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Graz (Austria). He currently combines his artistic activity with teaching at the Conservatori Superior de Música de les Illes Balears, where he is Professor of Violin.
Enrique Bernaldo de Quirós, pianist who inherited the great Russian piano tradition through his teacher Galina Eguiazárova (direct pupil of the mythical A. Goldenweiser), is one of the most complete pianists with the greatest international projection of his generation. He has won more than forty prizes in important international piano competitions. The prestigious prizes Cidade do Porto in 2007 and UNISA (Pretoria, South Africa) in 2012 place him among the select group of Spanish pianists awarded in competitions belonging to the World Federation of International Music Competitions in Geneva. He was born in Moscow, where he began his musical studies at the age of five. However, his training takes place mainly in Madrid at the Royal Conservatory of Music and the Reina Sofia School of Music, where he is distinguished with various honorary diplomas from H.M. Queen Sofia. He performs regularly in Europe, North Africa, South Africa and the Middle East. In June 2008 she made her debut in the legendary Sala Grande of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, a performance that earned her great recognition from the public and critics. As a soloist he has performed with orchestras such as the RTVE Symphony, Johannesburg Philharmonic (South Africa), Vallès Symphony, Madrid Symphony, Nacional do Porto (Portugal), Bacau Philharmonic (Romania), Balearic Symphony, under the baton of Tamás Vásáry, Salvador Brotons, José Ramón Encinar, Stuart Stratford, Josep Vicent and José Luis Gómez Ríos, among others. He has recorded several times for RNE and TVE, as well as several albums on the labels Columna Música and PlayClassics. He is a professor at the Conservatori Superior de Música de les Illes Balears.
