Duet Sintagma are a kind of energy that wants to transmit and flow throughout our territory to carry words and music. Their aim is their appreciation for culture and their desire to transmit it. Being the piano one of the most popular instruments around the world, they have decided to mix it with the tuba, a great unknown. The sounds that are generated attract the attention of the crowd from its own concept: its rarity. If this soundscape surprises the audience by unexpected, poetry adds the sensuality needed to shake the listener.

Francis Blanes studied at Balearic Islands Music Conservatory. When he finished his degree in music, he undertook a Masters degree in piano performance at the Katarina Gurska Foundation. He currently works at the Balearic Islands Music Conservatory as an associate professor in the specialty of piano accompanist oboe and percussion. It also participates as a teacher in many courses.

Àngel Torres attended his degree at the Balearic Islands Music Conservatory. He has worked with the Vallès Symphony Orchestra (2010-2011) and the Banda Municipal de Vitoria (2011-2012). From 2012 he plays tuba at the Municipal Band of Palma and from the academic year 2014-2015 he also works at the Balearic Islands Music Conservatory as associate professor.

In 2016, Duet Sintagma performed a recital in Bellreguard (Valencia), where they managed to gather more than 300 spectators. It was a great success. Taking advantage of the momentum provided by working in the same space, they decided to record their first CD called Viatge d'hivern (Winterreisse). In it, they perform the 24 lieder comprised in the homonymous work by German composer Franz Schubert. In addition, Duet Sintagma already has a first original work, composed by themselves: Miracle versus Tècnica, by Biel Oliver "Torres" based on verses by poet Blai Bonet, "Allegro Vivace", included in the book L’evangeli segons un de tants (The Gospel according to one of many).
