Ballugall was formed at the beginning of 2011 in Pollença (Mallorca), by a group of youngsters with a passion for the traditional music of our islands. The band initially aimed at revitalizing the project Racó de Tramuntana (a traditional dance company from Pollença), that was introduced not long after their debut.

Later on, they began composing their original songs. "La jota de tardor" is their first composition. From then on, they have been expanding their repertoire, always taking into consideration the danceability of their tunes and their structure, so that the dancers can enjoy them.

Ballugall has gone beyond their original goal of playing music for traditional dance performances, and nowadays their purpose is to build a repertoire of traditional music based on the popular or traditional heritage of the islands, so that they contribute to its promotion, perpetuation and innovation.
