Airbach
- Genre: Jazz , classical music
Airbach is a project where professional musicians from different fields meet. Some of them are classical soloists while others come from the world of jazz. Together they explore new ways of presenting classical and modern repertoires that suit them all as a group. The virtuosity of their performances, along with a passion for finding new ways to address the phenomenon of creation today, has brought them together in this project: "Create classical music based on a new modern and contemporary concept."
The band aims at projecting outside of the Balearics their own creative side, with music by composers Armando Lorente and Toni Cuenca, as well as by other members of the ensemble. During this last two years, in their consolidation phase, the band has performed in the following spaces: Teatre d’Artà, Serenates d’Estiu de Cala Rajada, Les Nits Musicals de Gràcia, Sala Dante, Setmana de Música de Felanitx, Auditori de Porreres, Serenates de l’Auba a Manacor, among others. In order to construct their own personal sound they have chosen Astor Piazzola's music for flute and Jazz trio and also music by Armando Lorente.
Airbach is formed by musicians Josep Francesc Palou (flute), Armando Lorente (percussion), Andreu Riera (piano), Toni Cuenca (bass) and Jaume Ginard (drums), all of them with a long career behind.
